A message from our care home manager

Wendy Clifton, Home Manager at Pelsall Hall, smiling outdoors, name badge: Wendy.

I began working in care at 18, supporting people with learning disabilities first, and moving to caring for older people, which soon became my passion. After completing my NVQ 5 and progressing in my career, I became a Registered Home Manager at another Greensleeves Care home before joining Pelsall Hall as Manager in 2019.

I’m extremely proud to lead a home with such strong local connections and history, and where residents are known, supported and encouraged to enjoy life each day. I know this is what many Managers will say but we truly have exceptional staff here – a stable, dedicated team who are key to delivering the warm atmosphere and plenty of laughter we have throughout the home.

Along with our good-humoured nature, one of the things people value the most about Pelsall Hall is that our focus is on people, not pockets. With our Home for Life commitment, residents can feel secure, cared for and truly at home.

My Sister-in-Law has been a resident at Pelsall Hall since October 2021 having lived at home during COVID and not able to cope due to her dementia. Our visits have usually been unannounced and we have had a warm welcome from the Staff each time. Her room is spacious and all facilities are clean and well maintained. Rosemary is always dressed well, her hair looking good and nails manicured. The Staff are very supportive listening to her and responding to her needs day or night. We are immediately contacted if they have any concerns. She enjoys joining in with the many activities put on by the Home and she always looks forward to her meals, cups of tea and reading the paper. The Home is spacious and has a lovely garden area where residents and family can meet during the summer months. We feel that she is safe and well looked after here. Thank you to all the staff.
