Rooms are light and welcoming, with phone and television points, internet access, and space for personal furniture where preferred. Residents are encouraged to bring treasured belongings, photographs, and familiar items, helping their room feel reassuring from the start. With lift access, wheelchair-friendly areas, and a recently refurbished entrance, our care home is designed to support safe, comfortable movement throughout the day.

And, as we have no shareholders, every penny goes back into care and enhancing our residents’ lives.

We accommodate a range of funding options, including self-funding, local authority support and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). We guide individuals and families through the funding process and support residents in remaining in care if their private funds are depleted.

Having worked in care since 2010, I know how important it is for families to feel confident that their loved one is safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. At Harleston House, we know that taking time to get to know each resident as an individual, understand their routines and preferences as well as the little things that bring comfort and joy is central to delivering the outstanding care we are known for.

With my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and many years of experience supporting residential and dementia care, safeguarding, and quality standards, I’m proud to help lead a team that puts dignity, welbeing, and person-centered care first. For decades, we have honed a proud reputation as one of the best care homes in the Waveney area, and I’d be delighted to welcome you for a visit so you can meet us and experience the warmth of Harleston House for yourself.

Can I arrange a trial or respite stay?

Yes, Harleston House offers both short-term respite care and flexible trial stays of up to six weeks, giving families time to see whether the care home feels right. Respite can also support recovery, provide a safe short-term stay, or give a carer time to rest. During the stay, residents receive personalised care, meals, activities and support from our team, with gentle help to settle in and feel comfortable.

How is the transition into care supported?

Moving into a care home can feel like a big step, so our team supports residents and families with patience and reassurance. Before arrival, we take time to understand care needs, routines, preferences and personal history, then create a personalised care plan. Residents are encouraged to bring familiar belongings for their bedroom, and family involvement is welcomed. Our team helps each person settle at their own pace, with familiar faces and gentle support.

What happens if my funds run out?

As part of Greensleeves Care, Harleston House offers a unique Home for Life funding assurance. This means residents will be helped to stay in the care home if their personal funds run out, giving families greater reassurance when planning long-term care. As a not-for-profit charity, Greensleeves Care reinvests into care, people and services rather than shareholders. Our team can talk you through funding options and what this assurance means for you or your loved one.

Mum has been in Harleston House for 18 months now. I am one of three sisters, and we are all very happy with the care she receives on a daily basis. The home itself is warm and welcoming with a pretty garden. Mum’s room is light and airy and always clean. The staff are lovely and really do care about the residents. Mum is always clean and in clean clothes every day. The food is very good, and the entertainment and activities are endless. As a family, we feel that mum is receiving the best care she possibly could, outside of the family home, which unfortunately, we are unable to provide 24/7
