A message from our care home manager

Kester Fraser Home Manager at The Manor

I have worked in care and healthcare leadership for over 15 years, with a passion for improving services, developing talented teams and creating environments where people feel safe, respected and genuinely at home.

At The Manor Care Home, I am proud to lead a dedicated team that shares a commitment to delivering high-quality nursing, residential, dementia and respite care. We understand that choosing a care home is a significant decision, which is why we take the time to get to know every resident as an individual. By understanding their life story, preferences and routines, we can provide care that feels personal, reassuring and tailored to their needs.

I believe great care starts with trust, communication and strong relationships. We work closely with residents, families and healthcare professionals to ensure everyone feels listened to, supported and involved.

My aim is to lead by example, creating a warm, welcoming home where residents can enjoy comfort, companionship, dignity and the confidence that expert care is always close at hand.

Frequently
asked questions

What is life like at The Manor?

Life at The Manor is calm, welcoming and shaped around each resident’s own routines. We provide freshly prepared meals, comfortable lounges, peaceful gardens, activities, quiet spaces and support that feels personal rather than rushed. Residents can choose how involved they want to be each day, whether that means joining a group activity, spending time outdoors, enjoying company over lunch, or relaxing privately in their own room.

Can I arrange a trial or respite stay?

Yes, we provide short-term respite care and a flexible trial period of up to six weeks. This gives residents time to experience daily life at The Manor before making longer-term decisions. A respite stay includes care support, meals, activities, companionship and nursing input where needed. It can also be helpful after a hospital stay, during recovery, or when extra support is needed for a short period.

How is the move into care supported?

We take the time to understand each resident before they move in, including their care needs, routines, preferences, food choices, interests, and what helps them feel settled. From this, we create a personalised care plan and provide gentle support during the settling-in period. Residents are encouraged to bring familiar belongings, photographs and furniture, helping their bedroom feel personal from the start.

How do we support residents living with dementia?

We provide specialist dementia care in a safe, supportive and reassuring environment. Our team uses familiar routines, gentle communication, adapted activities and memory-aware approaches to help residents feel more settled. Care is shaped around each resident’s life history, preferences, abilities and changing needs. Our recently renovated spaces, peaceful gardens and calm lounges help create structure, comfort and meaningful moments throughout the day.

What nursing care do you provide at The Manor?

We provide 24-hour nursing care for residents with more complex health needs. Our trained carers and qualified clinical nurses support medication, monitoring, mobility, long-term conditions, recovery needs and changing health requirements. We also work closely with healthcare professionals when additional clinical guidance is needed. Nursing support is delivered with warmth and respect, so residents receive the right care while still enjoying daily life in a homely setting.

What happens if my funds run out?

Through our Home For Life funding assurance, residents continue to be supported if their personal funds run out. As part of Greensleeves Care, a not-for-profit charity, our focus is on care, comfort and long-term wellbeing rather than shareholder profit. This gives residents reassurance that their care can continue with dignity, stability and familiar support, even if their financial circumstances change later.

Fantastic home, always friendly and welcoming. Just had a singer and entertainment with home made cakes and scones. Lots of dancing and laughter. They work hard to make sure all residents are involved and able to join if they want to. Everything is done with care checking what residents want. They look after everyone really well. My mum has been really happy and settled here for the past 18 months, made friends and is settled in her home.
