Proud to be a “home from home” not a hotel
De Lucy House is proud that our beautiful Care Home is a homely place for our residents to live a happy and meaningful life. Our residents feel comfortable here knowing their home is comfortable and homely not an over the top hotel where they cannot relax. This does not mean De Lucy is not a beautiful home, it certainly is. As with all brand new care homes it features comfortable spacious rooms, en-suite wet rooms, accessible and stunning grounds and lots of communal space. But, it is also designed in a style that our residents love and can feel comfortable in.

Well cared for and happy residents
It is a real joy to see the residents and the staff interacting, they are so obviously well cared for and happy with the support they receive. De Lucy House is a fantastically empowering environment where our residents truly thrive. We know that our residents still want to be happy and independent and still want to make their own decisions about how they lead their lives.
We believe that when people get older and more frail or when are living with dementia they still have the right to maintain control of their life choices. That is why we work so hard to support our residents to stay independent, carry on making decisions and live their lives how they want to live them. We realise that living at De Lucy House is not quite the same as living in your own family home. But, if you are at the stage where you now need care you should pop in and meet us and see for yourself what makes De Lucy House so different.
Home for life
All of the funds the charity receives either through care fees or donations is spent directly on the residents’ care or in improving the quality of the homes in which they live. We are incredibly proud to operate a “home for life policy”. Unlike many of the other homes in the area we would not ask somebody to leave if they ran out of money after living with us for some time.
Loving and caring team
Our Home Manager, Lauren, is an excellent home manager who impresses everybody that meets her with her passion and dedication to her residents. She believes that her residents are the most important thing in the world and she has built a loving and caring team that see things exactly the same way.
The team at De Lucy House believe that their residents are central to everything and are involved in all of the home’s key decisions. That is why they are involved in every planning meeting and decision making group we have in the home. We also recognise how important the resident’s families and friends are so we make sure they are also fully involved.
Our residents’ friends and families spend lots of time at De Lucy House, not because they need to, but the exact opposite, it is because they want to. Because, in many cases, for the first time in a long time they are sons and daughters or husbands and wives again not carers or nurses. Regaining their relationships is a real sense of comfort to many of our families and the residents.
Lauren is an inspirational Home Manager who infects everybody around her with her vision of what good care looks like and how independent her residents should remain. She has been here since De Lucy House first opened and has personally selected and trained the whole team in how to deliver exceptional care. We know that De Lucy House is our resident’s home and we, as staff, are just guests in it.

Well appointed home
De Lucy House is a beautiful purpose built home that has unrivalled facilities, but, it combines this with a homely feel that relaxes all of our residents. Every bedroom is larger than you would expect, is beautifully furnished and has an en-suite wet room. We also have a wide variety of communal space including large and accessible gardens, a hair and beauty salon, cinema, pub, sensory room, activities lounges and a number of quiet lounges. The home provides both residential and dementia care in separate and self-contained areas of the building with their own lounges, dining rooms, assisted bathrooms and en-suite bedrooms.
