We accommodate a range of funding options, including self-funding, local authority support and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). We guide individuals and families through the funding process and support residents in remaining in care if their private funds are depleted.

I have worked in care for older people for over 15 years, including in leadership roles in residential, dementia, complex needs and end-of-life care. I know how important dignity, purpose and quality of life are. I have been at De Lucy House since the start in 2015, and this truly is my second home. My focus is always on person-centred care, and I am proud to lead an award-winning and long-standing team who feel supported to do their best every day. With Level 3 Health and Social Care and Level 5 Leadership and Management qualifications, I lead with compassion, clarity and a commitment to continuous improvement. Quality care means more than meeting standards; it means exceeding them whenever possible.

Yes, De Lucy House offers respite care and flexible trial stays for people who need short-term support or would like to experience life at the home before making a longer-term decision. A respite stay includes personal care, meals, laundry, housekeeping, activities and access to the home’s communal spaces. The team takes time to understand each resident’s needs and preferences from the start, helping the residents feel calm, comfortable and well supported.

Before a resident moves in, the team completes an assessment to understand care needs, routines, preferences, health requirements and personal interests. How do you care for residents living with dementia?

Dementia care at De Lucy House focuses on familiarity, dignity and gentle support. The home is arranged into smaller 15-bed units, helping create a calmer and more familiar environment. Secure external doors, keypad systems, and consistent routines support safety, while the dementia-friendly team takes time to understand each resident’s life story, preferences and abilities. Activities can be adapted to focus on memory, confidence, and wellbeing, helping residents feel included and supported each day.

What happens if personal funds run out?

De Lucy House is part of Greensleeves Care, a not-for-profit charity with a Home for Life commitment. This means residents will be supported to stay in their home if personal funds become depleted, subject to the usual funding arrangements and assessments. As a charitable care provider, Greensleeves Care reinvests money back into care rather than paying shareholders, helping provide reassurance and continuity for residents if their financial circumstances change.
