Staff and residents at De Lucy House in Diss are celebrating after winning not one, but two prestigious national awards at an annual event that recognises excellence across care homes in England.
The Greensleeves Care Awards celebrate talent, compassion and innovation from across the not-for-profit group’s homes throughout the country. With over 1,900 employees, the awards honour achievements over a wide range of categories, including outstanding care practice, leadership, teamwork, community engagement, dementia care, and resident wellbeing.
De Lucy House– named as the number 1 not-for-profit care home in Diss by independent reviews platform carehome.co.uk – was singled out from among 300 nominations and recognised in the Home of the Year category, with Lauren Tubby, Home Manager and her team receiving a certificate and a cash prize to be spent in the home. The category celebrates high standards of care, excellent teamwork and a continuous person-centred approach to the delivery of care including excellence in the interaction with residents, their families and friends. “The team pride themselves on what good care feels like and the difference they make in everyone’s life story and the positive impact that it has. The team has met, and continues to exceed targets, maintained ‘good’ ratings on all internal audits and achieved an overall ‘good’ rating with one area of ‘outstanding’ with CQC.”
The home also received another team award: ‘Living our Values’ which recognises an individual or team who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to our values; respect, openness and responsibility. Lauren Tubby, Home Manager at De Lucy House, said:
“We are incredibly proud to receive these awards – it is an honour to have been awarded Home of the Year for the third consecutive year! I am extremely proud and privileged to work alongside my team. These recognitions are a testament to what we do best – providing high-quality, person-centred support, and going above and beyond to help people feel good about care. It’s wonderful to be recognised among a group of brilliant care homes nationally, and we are thrilled to keep building on this success for the benefit of our entire community at De Lucy House.”
