We prepare fresh meals on-site each day, with food that feels familiar, nourishing, and enjoyable. Our dining room is a sociable space where residents can share meals with others, although quieter options can be arranged when preferred. We take the time to understand our residents likes, dislikes, routines, and dietary needs, so meals feel personal as well as practical. From a favourite cup of tea to a comforting lunch, dining is part of daily wellbeing here.
Our activities are shaped around the people who live with us, so there is always room for familiar hobbies, gentle encouragement and new interests. We offer a varied programme that may include music, crafts, quizzes, movement, gardening, seasonal events and time outdoors. Residents are encouraged to join in as much or as little as they like. The aim is simple: to support wellbeing, companionship and enjoyment in ways that feel natural, meaningful and suited to each individual.
At Queen Elizabeth House, our fees are comprehensive and tailored to each resident’s needs. They cover fully personalised care around the clock, accommodation and furnishings, all meals and utilities, activities, and more. And, as we have no shareholders, every penny goes back into care and enhancing our residents’ lives.
We accommodate a range of funding options, including self-funding, local authority support and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). We guide individuals and families through the funding process and support residents in remaining in care if their private funds are depleted.
Caring for people has been at the heart of my career for more than 35 years, and I still feel privileged to do the work I do every day. At Queen Elizabeth House, my focus is on creating a warm, supportive environment where residents feel safe, respected and able to enjoy life in the way that matters most to them.
Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of care settings and have led teams through periods of growth, improvement and positive change. Since joining as the home’s manager in 2013, I’ve been proud to work alongside a dedicated team that genuinely cares about the people who live here and the experience their families have with us.
Receiving the Best Manager Award at the Bromley Adult Care Awards 2023 was incredibly meaningful, but the greatest reward is knowing residents feel happy, comfortable and well cared for.
