Broadlands, a CQC Outstanding-rated care home in Oulton Broad, has been shortlisted for the 2021 Caring UK Awards, a prestigious national award which recognises excellence and achievement in the care sector across the UK.
As well as being named finalists for the care team of the year category, testament to the outstanding care and support that is delivered to those living in the home, the team at Broadlands near Lowestoft were also recognised for their compassion and dedication to end of life care.
The home, operated by not-for-profit organisation Greensleeves Care, was rated Outstanding by CQC in their last inspection, in which the report highlighted the high quality of care, stating that “[residents at Broadlands] were truly respected and valued as individuals; and empowered as partners in their care in an exceptional service.”
Anne Maas, Home Manager at Broadlands, said:
“I’m delighted that our wonderful care team at Broadlands has been shortlisted for the Care Team of the Year Award. It is especially meaningful considering the pandemic, as I cannot stress enough how hard they have worked to keep our residents safe and happy. They really are heroes. To be recognised for our compassionate end of life care is also a great honour.”

“Never has there been a more appropriate time to recognise the amazing and selfless contribution that our carers make and how they have given so much to protect and care for their residents in the face of unprecedented challenges.”
In each category up to seven finalists have been selected and they will now go
through to the next stage of the judging process, ahead of the final awards ceremony which will be held in December.
This news comes at the same time as Greensleeves Care’s announcement of a 5% increase in hourly pay for its care and nursing staff, as a show of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to the ladies and gentlemen who live in Greensleeves Care homes.
