Greensleeves Care is celebrating being shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious Care Home Awards 2026 – national recognition of the organisation’s innovative approach to enhancing residents’ lives.
The leading non-profit care group has been named as a finalist for Best for Wellbeing, Best for Nutrition, Food and Dining and Best Sustainability Initiative, with winners to be announced in May 2026.
The triple shortlisting reflects a year of Trust-wide work focused on improving everyday life for its residents.
The nomination for Best for Wellbeing recognises a new evidence-based strategy integrating movement, nutrition, dementia-inclusive environments and meaningful connection under one unified framework. Early results show measurable improvements in residents’ strength, balance and confidence.
That integrated approach is mirrored in the Best for Nutrition, Food and Dining shortlisting. The nomination acknowledges a portfolio of initiatives including Greensleeves Care’s pioneering partnership with RaisingNutrition. Three homes became the first in the UK care sector to achieve RaisingNutrition Accreditation, which focuses on strengthening hydration, improving menu quality and enhancing dining experiences.
Completing the trio of nominations, the Best Sustainability Initiative recognition highlights how innovation at Greensleeves Care extends into environmental leadership. Working with Zest Recycle, the organisation introduced improved waste segregation, food waste collection and a pioneering blister pack recycling scheme, achieving zero waste to landfill.
Steve Morton, Head of Nutrition, Wellbeing and Dementia at Greensleeves Care, who has led several of the shortlisted initiatives, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted in three categories at the Care Home Awards 2026. These nominations are a powerful endorsement of the innovation, teamwork and determination shown by colleagues across our homes and central teams.
“What makes this especially meaningful is that these initiatives are not isolated projects – they are part of a wider commitment to continually improving daily life for residents. Thank you to everyone who has played a part in making this possible, from our care and catering teams to our partners, residents and families.”
The Care Home Awards are among the sector’s most respected accolades, celebrating excellence and forward-thinking practice across the UK. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 15 May 2026.
