Viera Gray House, a Greensleeves Care home in Barnes, has been recognised with the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation for exceptional end-of-life and palliative care.

Viera Gray House is now one of only two care homes in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames* to achieve the sought-after GSF accreditation, highlighting the home’s commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred support at every stage of life. The national award comes shortly after the home was reinspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and rated Good in all areas.

Located on Ferry Road in the heart of Barnes, Viera Gray House provides high-quality residential and dementia care within a warm, welcoming environment. The not-for-profit home features bright communal spaces, a tranquil conservatory and attractive gardens, and reinvests all income back into care and the home’s environment through Greensleeves Care’s charitable mission.

The Gold Standards Framework is a nationally recognised, evidence-based programme designed to improve the quality, coordination and consistency of palliative care. Fewer than 350 care homes across the UK currently hold this accreditation, which reflects excellence in helping people live well and die well – with dignity, respect and personal choice.

To achieve accreditation, the team at Viera Gray House completed specialist GSF training, produced a comprehensive portfolio of evidence and hosted an in-person assessment by the national GSF team to demonstrate that high-quality end-of-life practices are deeply embedded throughout the home.

Shubhes Shrestha, Home Manager at Viera Gray House, said:

“I am immensely proud of our team for achieving Gold Standard Framework accreditation and for the dedication and compassion that made it possible.

“Combined with our recent CQC Good rating, this recognition reflects the culture of care and commitment shared across our home. Our residents and their families place great trust in us, and we are determined to continue building on this success while staying deeply connected to the Barnes and wider Richmond community.”

Viera Gray House joins 18 other Greensleeves Care homes that have now achieved GSF accreditation across the charity’s national portfolio.
