Care and services
We offer
• Residential Care
• Nursing Care
• Respite Care

Our first priority at Glebelands is always the care and wellbeing of our residents. We ensure that they feel safe and comfortable at all times. Our staff are highly trained to deliver individualised care. It goes without saying that we aim to provide our residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, wellbeing and comfort is of the utmost importance. However we also aim to provide a lifestyle, which satisfies each individual's social and cultural needs with stimulating and meaningful interests and hobbies.

Independent Lives
We are also aware that each resident has given up a good deal of independence to enter the Glebelands' community. It is important to us that each guest has the option to organise their own schedule and has a large amount of flexibility in their daily lives.

We also work to maintain each resident's place in society by providing access to public libraries and NHS services, organised voting procedures, and opportunities to contribute to society through volunteering and taking on positions of responsibility, both within Glebelands and in the surrounding community.

Dignity and Fulfilment
Our staff strive to maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all our residents within a warm and caring atmosphere and we aim to be sensitive to individual residents changing needs. We encourage all residents to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plan promoting person-centred care in which the involvement of family and friends as appropriate are greatly valued.

We strive to help every resident realise his or her personal aspirations and abilities in all aspects of daily life, promoting independence and ensuring your care and needs are unique and we will participate with your on-going care planning with you for your future.

Activities
Our activities are personalised to suit our residents’ wishes and interests and to enable them to stay active and as independent as possible. We have a dedicated activities coordinator who organises a schedule of entertainment and activities that is woven into the fabric of the day. In this way we keep days interesting and fun for all.

Example activities include gardening, sewing, knitting, bingo, poetry, karaoke and our infamous baking group. Volunteers come weekly to pick up any guests wishing to attend church services and we offer a regular communion in house.

Our Wellbeing Therapist offers the following complimentary therapies: Reflexology, Reiki Healing, Back, neck & shoulder massage, Magnetic Healing and Indian Head Massage.

Menu
Glebelands boasts a beautiful dining room setting overlooking the gardens. Our aim is to provide the best culinary and nutritious delights, offering a variety of choice for individual residents.

Dining at Glebelands is designed to be a pleasure, both socially and gastronomically! Fresh produce is delivered daily from Ashridge Farms whilst our meat and infamous 'bangers' are sourced from Fletchers, the local butcher. We offer seasonal dishes whenever possible.

We aim to provide meals which enable each resident, as much as possible, to decide where, when and with whom they consume the food and drinks of their choice. We serve breakfast, morning coffee. lunch, afternoon tea, high tea and evening refreshments. Visitors are welcome to dine with residents by prior arrangement.

News at Glebelands

Greensleeves Care purchases Glebelands care home

Glebelands, a stunning care home in Wokingham, has been acquired by Greensleeves Care, an award-winning care home charity. The new home becomes the 21st member of the Greensleeves Care family and will represent a proud addition to the well-respected care organisation that currently provides residential, dementia & nursing care to over 800 people across the Midlands, Southern and Eastern England.

The sale of the home by the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is a key part of The CTBF’s change to its long-term strategy which involves a refocusing of its efforts to better support its members to meet their changing needs and lifestyles.

During the process to select the best possible organisation to take over the Glebelands Care Home the CTBF spent a great deal of time and met with a high number of care home providers before unanimously deciding that Greensleeves Care was the best organisation to continue the excellent care and take the home forward. Absolutely central to their decision was the ethos and culture of Greensleeves Care, which the CTBF felt was very similar to their own, along with their strong track record of delivering exceptional care to older people.

Greensleeves Care has been providing high quality care for older people for 20 years. As a charitable trust, it is not-for-profit, so any financial surplus is reinvested back into its operations, helping them to continuously improve the homes and deliver outstanding care and services to residents.

Paul Newman, Chief Executive of Greensleeves Care, welcomed the agreement: “We are really looking forward to the residents and staff of Glebelands joining Greensleeves Care and extending our sector-leading support services to them. “We have much in common and share fundamental values about our approach to care. Care is at the heart of everything we do. Like us, they are focused on making a positive difference to the lives of residents and we will work closely with them to ensure the handover is as smooth as possible.”

D’Arcy Myers, Interim CEO of The CTBF, commented: “I’m really pleased we have been able to conclude the sale of Glebelands to Greensleeves Care as I believe they will build on its track record as a fantastic care home that provides a very personal and warm service to its residents. “Glebelands has played a hugely important part in the services we have provided as a charity over the years and I’m very glad that it will remain an option for all of our beneficiaries in the future. “Our plan is to concentrate on better meeting the changing needs of people working behind the scenes in Cinema, TV and Film, who find themselves in times of need for one reason or another.”
