Glebelands care home in Wokingham

Glebelands care home in Wokingham is a very impressive care facility that delivers exceptional Nursing Care and Residential Care to the older people of Wokingham, Reading, Camberley, Bracknell and East Berkshire.

Although only a short walk from the centre of Wokingham, Glebelands feels like it is part of a historic estate set in the heart of the countryside. Magnificent landscaped gardens, a stunning summer house and a relaxing conservatory surrounded by thick woodlands really sets it apart from all other care homes and it truly has to be seen to be believed.

Inside the care home is equally as impressive with exceptional features that include a fantastic cinema, an extremely popular hair salon, a well-stocked library and a cosy lounge that immediately relaxes and calms anybody that takes a seat. The 41 en-suite bedrooms are all different and offer a real choice to the residents. Some are cosy and comforting while others are really spacious; some others are even big enough for couples to continue living together. They all have two things in common – large and attractive wet rooms and stunning views of the impressive gardens.

The team at Glebelands are loving and caring and have been specially chosen because of these qualities and for their desire to deliver the best possible care. They always focus on supporting the residents to remain as independent as possible never forgetting they are all individuals with a wealth of life experience and knowledge of the world.

There is an exceptional menu chosen by the residents to reflect what they have personally cooked and eaten all their lives which they enjoy in a magnificent dining room. The home also has a fantastic activity programme again created by the residents to ensure that their choices and interests are fully catered for.

Glebelenads is part of Greensleeves Care, one of the most highly respected and well regarded care charities in the elderly care sector. Most of the people that meet us want to find out more about what being supported by a care charity might mean for them so please read more about Greensleeves Care.

Care and services
We offer
• Residential Care
• Nursing Care
• Respite Care

Our first priority at Glebelands is always the care and wellbeing of our residents. We ensure that they feel safe and comfortable at all times. Our staff are highly trained to deliver individualised care. It goes without saying that we aim to provide our residents with a secure, relaxed, and homely environment in which their care, wellbeing and comfort is of the utmost importance. However we also aim to provide a lifestyle, which satisfies each individual's social and cultural needs with stimulating and meaningful interests and hobbies.

Independent Lives
We are also aware that each resident has given up a good deal of independence to enter the Glebelands' community. It is important to us that each guest has the option to organise their own schedule and has a large amount of flexibility in their daily lives.

We also work to maintain each resident's place in society by providing access to public libraries and NHS services, organised voting procedures, and opportunities to contribute to society through volunteering and taking on positions of responsibility, both within Glebelands and in the surrounding community.

Dignity and Fulfilment
Our staff strive to maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all our residents within a warm and caring atmosphere and we aim to be sensitive to individual residents changing needs. We encourage all residents to participate in the development of their individualised Care Plan promoting person-centred care in which the involvement of family and friends as appropriate are greatly valued.

We strive to help every resident realise his or her personal aspirations and abilities in all aspects of daily life, promoting independence and ensuring your care and needs are unique and we will participate with your on-going care planning with you for your future.

Activities
Our activities are personalised to suit our residents’ wishes and interests and to enable them to stay active and as independent as possible. We have a dedicated activities coordinator who organises a schedule of entertainment and activities that is woven into the fabric of the day. In this way we keep days interesting and fun for all.

Example activities include gardening, sewing, knitting, bingo, poetry, karaoke and our infamous baking group. Volunteers come weekly to pick up any guests wishing to attend church services and we offer a regular communion in house.

Our Wellbeing Therapist offers the following complimentary therapies: Reflexology, Reiki Healing, Back, neck & shoulder massage, Magnetic Healing and Indian Head Massage.

Glebelands boasts a beautiful dining room setting overlooking the gardens. Our aim is to provide the best culinary and nutritious delights, offering a variety of choice for individual residents.

Dining at Glebelands is designed to be a pleasure, both socially and gastronomically! Fresh produce is delivered daily from Ashridge Farms whilst our meat and infamous 'bangers' are sourced from Fletchers, the local butcher. We offer seasonal dishes whenever possible.

We serve breakfast, morning coffee. lunch, afternoon tea, high tea and evening refreshments. Visitors are welcome to dine with residents by prior arrangement.
