Torkington House staff members collecting the Gold Standard Frameworks accreditation

Torkington House, a Greensleeves Care home in Acton, has been recognised with the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation for exceptional end-of-life and palliative care. Torkington House is now the first* care home in the London Borough of Ealing to achieve this distinguished accreditation.

The achievement follows a period of continued investment in high-quality, person-centred care at the not-for-profit home, which provides residential and dementia care in a warm and supportive environment. Torkington House is set within a peaceful residential area and features comfortable communal lounges, bright dining spaces and landscaped gardens enjoyed by residents and visitors.

Torkington House also holds an outstanding reputation among families. The home was named among the Top 20 care homes in London by leading care platform Carehome.co.uk and is rated 9.6 out of 10 based on independent reviews from residents and relatives.

The Gold Standards Framework is a nationally recognised, evidence-based programme designed to improve the quality, coordination and consistency of palliative and end-of-life care. Fewer than 350 care homes in the UK currently hold GSF accreditation, which reflects excellence in supporting people to live well and die well – with dignity, compassion and personal choice.

As part of the accreditation process, colleagues at Torkington House undertook specialist training, submitted an extensive evidence portfolio and participated in an in-person assessment by the national GSF team to demonstrate that high-quality end-of-life practices are fully embedded throughout the home.

Margaret Siriwardena, Registered Manager at Torkington House, said:

“I am incredibly proud that Torkington House is now the first care home in Ealing to achieve Gold Standards Framework accreditation. This recognition is a huge achievement for our team, whose compassion, professionalism and commitment to our residents shine through every day. It also reflects the confidence families place in us – we are honoured to support people in their most important moments, and we will continue to build on this success as part of the wider Greensleeves Care family.”

Torkington House joins 18 sister homes across Greensleeves Care that have now achieved GSF accreditation, reflecting the charity’s commitment to delivering excellence in care nationwide.
