What is the care home environment like?

An important thing to remember when considering moving yourself or a loved one into a care home is that care home staff do not see their residents as one homogenous group. That is, each person’s individuality and personality is taken into account when planning their care.

This is also true of activities. The home’s Activities Co-ordinator ensures that the activities schedule is accommodating for different personality types: social activities for more outgoing residents, and quieter one-to-one activities for more reserved residents. Not only that, the Activities Co-ordinator will take into account each individual resident’s likes and dislikes, and incorporate them into the activities programme.

Particularly at Greensleeves Care, our activities teams are noted for going above and beyond, ensuring that there is an activity to suit every single resident.

Environment

The focus on person-centred care means that the care home environment can be whatever you would like it to be. If you, or your loved one, are the type of person who prefers to spend time in your bedroom, you will never be pressured to join in with other residents, but you will always be welcome to if you change your mind.

We also pride ourselves on strong relationships between staff and resident, not just between residents themselves, and aim to make our care homes feel like one big family home.
