Harleston House organises a Park Run

Harleston House, a specialist dementia care home in Lowestoft had residents, relatives and staff take part in the Lowestoft Park Run fundraising event for the home.

The residents were supported to take park in the event along the Lowestoft seafront in fancy dress collecting funds for the home as they followed the park run track. The current total is around the £800 mark but money is still being donated.

The event was arranged by care assistant Jackie Winfield who supports the residents with water sport activities outside the home.

Gareth Harding Activity Coordinator at Harleston said: “Jackie shows a real passion for fitness and supports those residents who show a keen interest in sports and keeping active in our home”.

There were plenty of people down the seafront cheering the participants on and the park run volunteers did an amazing job with supporting the event.

Jackie Winfield said: “What a joy it has been seeing the residents involved with the local park run and being part of a fundraiser for their home, the whole experience was brilliant”.
