A new local football team Walsall Wood Avengers Under 7s close to Pelsall Hall was formed by Manager Lee Stretton to encourage more youngsters into the sport.

One of the members of the football team is grandson of the Activities Coordinator at Pelsall Hall and mentioned that the team were looking for sponsorship to help them purchase match and training kits.

Pelsall Hall were happy to help – many of the residents are interested in football – and were particularly keen to help youngsters into the sport.

Pelsall Hall is a registered Eden Alternative home, whose philosophy is to support residents to continue to live a full life banishing loneliness, helplessness and boredom through culture change. The home is part of the award-winning charity Greensleeves Care, which manages 22 residential, dementia and nursing homes across England.

Manager at Pelsall Hall, Linda Millington, said: “We are happy to support the team and help them with sponsorship. Part of our Eden Alternative culture is to include children into the lives of our residents. The residents at Pelsall Hall are delighted to support and follow the growth and the achievements of the team through the football season”.

The team trains twice a week and has matches against other local teams most weekends. Pelsall Hall residents are looking forward to watching Walsall Wood Avengers.
