Charity Cyclists Stop off at Arden House Care Home

Arden House - Hosts Cyclists

On 28 September Arden House care home in Leamington Spa welcomed a large group of amateur cyclists from across the care industry who were taking part in a 75-mile Cycle Challenge for The Care Workers Charity. The charity’s sole aim is to support current and former care workers who have fallen on hard times, with financial assistance and support to help them get back on their feet.

Residents and staff at the care home were delighted to meet the brave cyclists and provide them with some much needed rest and refreshments. In preparation to the event, Arden House residents made their very own energy drink, aptly named ‘Ardenade’ by one of the visitors as well as energy giving home-made flapjacks, sweets and other food and drink.

Arden House residential care home, part of award-winning charity Greensleeves Care, was the first of five stops for the cyclists taking part in the challenge. Arriving full of laughter and positivity, they turned the dining room of the home into a buzzing hub mingling with residents, staff and visitors whilst quenching their thirst and recharging their energy levels. As a 75-mile cycle was too far for our residents, staff and visitors, the home supplied a stationary bike to allow them to feel part of the event.

Tracy Jones, Home Manager at Arden House, said: “We were delighted to welcome the cyclists on the first pit stop of the cycle challenge. Meeting the cyclists was a real highlight for the residents who enjoyed chatting with them and finding out more about the cause they were raising money for. Cyclists in turn were delighted to meet the residents and bring smiles to their faces.”
