Physiotherapy at St Cross Grange

St Cross Grange are delighted to be working in partnership with a friendly local physiotherapist who visits residents within the home and works with them to achieve their individual goals.  All arrangements and payments are between the resident and/or their family and the physiotherapist.

Impact on Residents

Daughter of resident-

“Physio Day is my Mum’s favourite day of the week.

When she was discharged from the fracture clinic, Mum was given exercises from the community physio to do, but with the best will in the world the carers really don’t have the time, confidence, knowledge, and skills to be able implement them effectively. Without physio input Mum was at risk of never regaining movement in her arm and shoulder. This would have impacted independent dressing, her balance and ability to get about.

Thanks to physio input Mum can now raise her arm up in the air once again and when she gets into a car, she can use both arms to push herself into a comfortable position.”

Daughter of resident-

My Mum is prone to falling. She really does need ongoing physio to promote and maintain her physical strength. Otherwise, she is at risk of becoming immobile as she and those caring for her lose confidence in her ability to be able to walk. The group exercises provide such a fun way of maintaining strength and balance.”
