Torkington House is an elegant Edwardian House that was originally opened in 1947. The home is situated in a peaceful tree-line road in Acton, West London and is accessible to public transport and shops. It was extensively modernised with a new wing to accommodate 32 residents in total.
The majority of the rooms at Torkington are en-suite. Each individual room is fully carpeted and furnished to a high standard, they are also equipped with a call bell system and T.V. point. Residents are encouraged to bring in personal items and small items of furniture. On the ground floor there is an assisted bath with a toilet for disabled use plus three toilets, two of which have wheelchair access. There are two fine sitting rooms, one is in the old building with all the original Edwardian features and the other is the sun lounge which is in the new building and overlooks the decking and the rear garden.
Our catering team offers residents a good choice of menu for each meal and can cater for a variety of medical and special diets.
Each resident is encouraged to lead his/her own life as independently as possible and individual cultural and religious needs are respected. An Activity Coordinator arranges activities, outings and trips. You can also book the Hairdresser and Chiropodist who visit the home regularly.
